William W. Smith
Vice President

Will Smith joined Harren Equity Partners in 2014 and currently serves as a Vice President. His responsibilities include identifying and assessing investment opportunities, closing and financing transactions, and monitoring portfolio companies.

Will is a member of the Board of Directors and works directly with the management teams at four current investments: Shrimp Basket, Mission Pets, Alliance Ground International, and Velosio. Will has assisted these companies in developing financial and KPI reporting, implementing ERP systems, sourcing and executing add-on acquisitions, branding and new product development initiatives, and other strategic growth initiatives. Additionally, Will served as a board observer and was integrally involved in all aspects of Harren's successful realized investment in Huskie Tools, primarily working with management to improve financial and operational reporting and execute add-on acquisitions.

Prior to joining Harren, Will was a member of the Leveraged Finance Group at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he worked on numerous financing transactions for a variety of non-investment grade corporate and private equity clients.

Will received a Bachelor of Science cum laude in Accounting & Business Administration from the Williams School of Commerce at Washington & Lee University.

A former captain of the varsity men’s basketball team at Washington & Lee, Will remains passionate about basketball. He is an active volunteer with the Virginia Basketball Academy, a Charlottesville-area year-round youth basketball training & development program.

Will lives in Charlottesville with his wife Annie and their Scottish terrier Lexington. In his free time, Will dabbles as a mediocre-yet-enthusiastic golfer and skier. He also enjoys reading, traveling, the occasional pick-up basketball game, and cheering on the UVA and W&L basketball teams.
